Liverpool have been linked with a summer swoop for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as Arne Slot looks to strengthen his attacking options.

The 22-year-old enjoyed an outstanding 2024-25 campaign, registering 21 goals and 21 assists in 64 appearances across all competitions, including two assists in six Club World Cup matches.

However, the emergence of Desire Doué saw Barcola’s starting opportunities diminish during the second half of the season.

He was left out of the starting XI for PSG’s 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League final.

Barcola still featured prominently, starting 14 European fixtures and 27 Ligue 1 matches, but four of his six Club World Cup outings came from the bench –  including the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the final.

With Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also key figures in Luis Enrique’s attack, questions have been raised over Barcola’s long-term role at the Parc des Princes.

Liverpool are admirers of the former Lyon star.

PSG have already rejected two approaches from Liverpool for the versatile forward.

Another forward linked with the Reds is Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, however, the Premier League champions are believed to prefer Barcola over the Brazil international should they make a move for either.

PSG  signed Barcola from Ligue 1 rivals Lyon in 2023 for around £43million and would likely demand at least double that fee to part with the winger this summer.

Liverpool, however, have the financial muscle to make a move, having already signalled their willingness to table a bid of over £120 million for Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak.

The Reds also bolstered their transfer budget last month by selling Luis Díaz to Bayern Munich for around £65.5million.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has provided the latest update on Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola.

Plettenberg posted on X: “Liverpool are closely monitoring the situation of Bradley #Barcola.

“However, there have been no offers or advanced talks with the player’s camp at this stage.

“Alexander Isak remains the priority target for #LFC?

Should that move fall through, the club would have the budget available for a high-profile winger like Barcola.

“PSG remain relaxed, maintaining their stance that Barcola is not for sale.

“Internally, they view the rumours as a possible smokescreen linked to Liverpool’s pursuit of Isak.”
