Sky Germany’s Florian Plenttenberg has provided an update on the negotiations between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz.
It’s been less than two weeks since Liverpool’s interest in Wirtz was first reported, but it appears that the deal will be completed in the next couple of days.
The busy Liverpool summer transfer season is already in full swing, with more than a month left before the transfer window opens for the Reds.
Days ago,we exclusively reported that the club had agreed a deal to sign Jeremie Frimpong.
We also broke the news that he had passed the first part of his medical over the weekend, with the deal now in the final stages before official announcements.
And now, it is increasingly looking like Frimpong may be announced along with his Bayer Leverkusen teammate Wirtz.
Several reliable journalists, including David Ornstein, reported last Friday that the 22-year-old favoured a move to Liverpool.
Sky Germany added another layer to the story, revealing that the German international has now agreed to a move to Liverpool.
Fabrizio Romano also added even more detail to the already positive news by revealing that the Reds have made a formal offer to sign the attacking midfielder.
With Liverpool and Bayer in discussion, Sky Germany’s Plenttenberg has confirmed that the negotiation between both clubs is moving at full speed.
“Negotiations between FC Liverpool and Bayer 04 Leverkusen regarding Florian Wirtz are progressing positively and at full speed,” the jurnalist wrote on X.
The journalist also added that “both clubs are pushing for a quick agreement”, while the player is also “waiting for green light for the medical.”
