Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has provided the latest update on Liverpool’s pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Willian Pacho.

The Reds are reportedly among the clubs that have short-listed Pacho ahead of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool have frequently been linked with talented central defenders throughout the summer and the recent January transfer window.

It has been suggested that Liverpool lack depth in their defensive options, especially with captain Virgil van Dijk in the final 18 months of his contract, leading to discussions about reinforcements.

Joel Matip, currently sidelined due to anterior cruciate ligament surgery, is also approaching the end of his contract in the summer.

Willian Pacho is currently tied to Eintracht Frankfurt through a contract that extends for another four seasons, concluding in the summer of 2028.

Florian Plettenberg claims that Frankfurt are aware of Liverpool’s interest in Pacho, but as of now, there has been no communication between the two clubs.

“Eintracht Frankfurt, still keen about the interest from @LFC in Willian #Pacho!” he posted on X.

“But been told there’s no contact between the clubs at this stage.

“#LFC Price tag for the 22 y/o center-back has been set: €50-60m in transfer fees for a transfer in summer?

“Contract valid until 2028.”

Pacho is a left-sided central defender known for his exceptional spatial awareness, precise passing abilities, and polished tackling skills.

He has seamlessly filled the shoes of his Frankfurt predecessor Evan Ndicka, who has since moved to AS Roma.

Pacho’s adeptness extends to playing out from the back, coupled with the agility to keep pace with swift opposition players.
