Sky Sports has revealed more details of Liverpool’s second improved bid for Hugo Ekitike.
By now, every Liverpool fan is aware of the club’s interest in the Frenchman.
The Reds want to strengthen the centre forward position, and the 23-year-old is seen as an ideal candidate by the club’s data-driven scouting department.
They have already taken the first step in the pursuit of the striker, who was also wanted by Newcastle United.
Two days ago, the Reds submitted a bid to Eintracht Frankfurt that was close to €80 million.
However, the Reds’ initial bid was rejected by Frankfurt, who are keen on securing a premium for the talented striker.
The club have now returned with an improved offer, with journalist Ben Jacobs reporting that the Reds have submitted a proposal worth €90 million for Hugo Ekitike.
On Saturday, they returned with a second improved offer.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the second offer from the Reds was €90m.
“Talks ongoing over add-ons with total package now circa €90m,” the journalist wrote on X.
Sky Sports has now revealed more details about the bid, stating that
“Liverpool have made an offer of €80 million euros (£69m) plus add-ons for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike,” the report said.
“We understand the total package in this offer could rise to €90m – which is around £78m – but talks continue over the structure of the add-ons.
The development comes after 48 hours of negotiations between the two parties after Liverpool’s interest was made public earlier this week.
“The player is open to a Premier League move, and Liverpool would be his preferred destination, after Newcastle had an offer rejected earlier this week?
Eintracht Frankfurt are yet to respond to this latest move.”
