Luis Diaz could be leaving Liverpool this summer.
The winger had a strong 2024/25 season, playing a key role as Liverpool won the Premier League title.
But despite his performances, Diaz is now seriously considering a move away from Anfield.
Bayern Munich have come forward with interest.
Talks are now progressing, and Diaz is open to the move.
There are two main reasons.
First, he wants more regular game time in his preferred left-wing role.
Second, he wants a better financial deal.
With new attacking signings at Liverpool this summer, Diaz knows minutes could become harder to come by.
Cody Gakpo is currently preferred on the left when fit.
And last season, Diaz often played out of position as a central striker.
Now, with Bayern ready to make him a starter and offer better wages, Diaz is pushing for the move.
Sky Sports now confirms that Liverpool and Bayern Munich are in advanced talks over a deal for Luis Diaz.
The report read, “Bayern Munich are in advanced talks with Liverpool over a deal for Luis Diaz.”
“Liverpool rejected Bayern’s initial advances and an offer believed to be in the region of £58.5m (€67m), but the German champions have since returned with a second offer of around £69m (€80m).”
“Final details are being discussed now over the total package.”
Liverpool have been unwilling to sell all summer.
But Diaz has made his intentions clear.
Sources close to the player say Diaz is now seriously considering a move because he’s unhappy with his current wages at Liverpool and believes he can secure a better deal elsewhere.
Diaz currently earns around £55,000 per week, significantly lower than others with a similar impact.
That has opened the door for Bayern.
The German side may be able to offer a better financial package.
More importantly, they can give him the starting role on the left, especially after Leroy Sane’s exit.
And with Cody Gakpo preferred on the left under Arne Slot, Diaz sees a clearer path at Bayern.
The £69m offer also signals Bayern’s intent.
They aren’t signing a squad player—they see Diaz as a starter.
Diaz joined Liverpool in January 2022 for £37.5m.
With two years left on his deal and age not on his side, Liverpool’s top brass see this as good business, especially since Diaz wants to join the Bundesliga champions.
This time, it looks like the player’s mind is made up.
