The rumour mill is in full motion as we approach this summer’s transfer window.

As we come to the last few game weeks of the current season, most of the team’s futures are already decided and clubs have begun looking towards this summer and deciding who they need to bring in to improve their squad.

Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has been linked to Liverpool on several occasions throughout the season.

The 25-year-old looks set to be one of the hottest properties this summer.

In November, Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola expressed his desire for Semenyo to stay at the club, despite interest building from top six sides in the Premier League.

When asked about top clubs looking at Semenyo, Iraola had this to say:

“Not to look too much, I’d prefer him to stay here and continue performing with us.”

Whilst Liverpool have been reported admirers of Semenyo for a while now, Manchester United have also been expressing interest.

Manchester United are expected to face fierce competition for Semenyo’s services from a number of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.

The Bournemouth star currently has four years left on his contract.

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are the current front-runners in the race to sign the Bournemouth star.

Ruben Amorim is said to be a big admirer of Semenyo and has specific ideas about how to deploy him in a new-look attack next season.

The online publication goes on to reveal that the fee could be around the £65m mark and could be similar to Bournemouth’s sale of Dominic Solanke to Spurs, where the club set a lower fixed fee but include multiple add-ons.

Despite advancing to the semi-finals of the Europa League mid-week, Manchester United have had one of their worst domestic campaigns in recent memory, as they currently sit in 14th place with six games to go.

United need to do business, and will, as forwards like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony are all enjoying loan spells away from the club, opening up the possibility that the trio will leave this summer.

Antoine Semenyo has scored 11 goals in all competitions this season for The Cherries, benefiting greatly from the appointment of Iraola.

Bournemouth signed Semenyo for £10.5m from Bristol City in 2023, so the club look set to greatly profit from any sale this summer if he was to depart the club.
