Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, according to Fabrizio Romano.
“At the moment for Liverpool there is nothing, they sent their scouts to scout Rodrigo De Paul because we are talking about a good player, also a talented midfielder who always scores here in Serie A, but at the moment he is not a target for January.”
The prospect of Liverpool making a move for De Paul is certainly an intriguing one.
“Next summer we will see because here in Italy we have rumours about Mino Raiola approaching Rodrigo De Paul as possibly his new player, so he is trying to get De Paul as his new player, and when there is Mino Raiola in the air, something big can happen.”
According to Romano, De Paul is also being considered by Leeds United and Inter Milan.
Despite originally playing down Liverpool’s interest in De Paul, Romano has since claimed that the Reds have sent scouts to take a loot at him.
“In this moment Liverpool are not moving to sign De Paul in January, so we can say this is absolutely something that is completely not real,” was Romano’s original outtake regarding Liverpool’s reported interest in De Paul.
For one, notorious football agent Mino Raiola is looking to take on the Argentine international as a client, which won’t bode too well with Liverpool supporters.
With that said, Liverpool could want to pursue a younger target who offers more long-term value or longevity.
