Mohammed Kudus has issued a determined reply after Djed Spence teased him during Tottenham training ahead of their crunch tie against Man City.
Spurs begun their 2025-26 campaign in stunning fashion after a comfortable 3-0 win against newly-promoted Burnley.
Tottenham won courtesy of Brennan Johnson and the acrobatic effort of Richarlison, who grabbed two goals on the day, which will worry Dominic Solanke over his starting role.
Kudus made his league debut and dazzled down the right-hand side, teeing up both of the Brazilian’s goals as he gave the Clarets left-back a horrendous 90 minutes.
Spence also impressed on the left-hand side after a poor showing against PSG in the UEFA Super Cup defeat, turning players inside out.

The Englishman posted a story captioned: “0/10 completion.
‘If you get past me once, I buy you [Kudus] dinner’.”
Ending the caption with a laughing face and a love heart, highlighting the good jest, the former West Ham wide man responded to the challenge, saying: “My feet will do the talking soon.”

Whilst it is easy for Spurs fans to get ahead of themselves (I certainly am) following the opening day victory, the next match against Pep Guardiola’s side will test the resolve of Thomas Frank.
The Cityzens demolished Wolves 4-0 with Tijjani Reinjders looking to be an excellent bit of business for City after grabbing a goal and an assist on his debut.
The Lilywhites will likely alter their structure to cope with the attacking excellence of their opponents at the Etihad, switching to a compact 5-3-2.

What makes the Dane such a wonderful manager is his tactical versatility which turned Brentford into a seasoned Premier League side.
Reshuffling and reorganising depending on the calibre of opponent is one of the key differences between the former Bees boss and his predecessor Ange Postecoglou which should make Spurs a highly competitive side.
A trip to the Etihad is never straightforward, however, so it could be a major learning curve for Frank and his team as they bid to return to the top of the table.
