Marc Guehi is expected to follow Alexander Isak in completing a deadline-day move to Liverpool to cap an astonishing summer of transfer business by the club, sources have told Football Insider.
Liverpool had an official bid of £35million for Guehi rejected by Crystal Palace on Saturday, but will make a “minor adjustment” on the add-ons to get a deal over the line.
Talks between the two clubs continued on Sunday night and there is an expectation among all parties that Guehi will be a Liverpool player by the time the window shuts on Monday night.
It comes as Liverpool’s jaw-dropping summer of business continued in the early hours of deadline day when they agreed a record-breaking British fee of £125m with Newcastle for the transfer of Alexander Isak.
The Sweden international, 25, will undergo a medical in Liverpool on Monday before completing a move on a six-year contract.
The Anfield backroom staff are on standby for two medicals as they prepare for Guehi to also complete a move.

Guehi has also fully agreed on personal terms with Liverpool and they are close to finalising a fee with Palace following extensive talks in recent days.

Football Insider revealed last week (27 August) that the 25-year-old has an “agreement” with Palace that he can leave once their Europa Conference League play-off against Fredrikstad and final Premier League clash before the international break were completed.
Palace have been holding out for a fee of £40m for Guehi, who has entered the final year of a contract that expires next June.
Liverpool have been trying to push through a deal for the England international despite already having four senior centre-backs on their books and spending more than £250m this summer with Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni all arriving on Merseyside.
The expected captures of Isak and Guehi will take the spending to beyond the £400m mark, which would smash all Premier League records.
Liverpool have opened their title defence with three wins, 4-2 over Bournemouth on August 15, the 3-2 stoppage-time victory over Newcastle, and a scrappy 1-0 victory over Arsenal earlier on Sunday.

The Liverpool player likely to be most affected by the arrival of Guehi is Ibrahima Konate, who has had a mixed start to the season.
He has been in the starting XI for all three of the team’s Premier League matches but had wretched games against Bournemouth and Newcastle before delivering a more polished display against Arsenal before limping off with an injury in the second half.
Arne Slot claimed the defender was withdrawn due to “cramp” but suggested it could turn out to be more serious.
Konate has been the subject of transfer interest from Real Madrid this summer, and his long-term future is in doubt with his contract expiring next summer.
Talks over an extension have collapsed and the defender has rejected multiple offers to extend.
