Brentford are accelerating efforts to sign Bournemouth winger Dango Ouattara, sources have told Football Insider.

The Bees are eyeing Ouattara as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, who completed a move to Manchester United earlier this summer.

Sources say that Bournemouth would prefer to keep the 23-year-old, but are open to a sale if the circumstances are right.

The Burkina Faso international is interested in making the switch to West London, and the move is progressing quickly.

It has been a challenging summer for Bournemouth, who have seen the core of their team ripped apart after such a successful 2024/25 campaign.

As well as seeing Milos Kerkez depart, Andoni Iraola has lost Dean Huijsen, and Illia Zabarnyi’s switch to Paris Saint-Germain was confirmed on Tuesday (12 August).

The Cherries will be reluctant to let another player go without finding a replacement, so Ouattara’s move to Brentford may be put on hold until the South Coast side have plans in place.

Ouattara showed his versatility throughout the campaign as well, having to fill in at centre forward during the Cherries’ injury crisis.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will face a difficult task to sign Nathan Collins this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Collins played every single minute in the Premier League for the Bees last season and was appointed as Brentford’s new captain by Keith Andrews after Christian Norgaard’s departure to Arsenal.

Liverpool are in the market for central defenders this summer after Jarell Quansah‘s move to Bayer Leverkusen, but sources have told Football Insider that Brentford are unlikely to let the Irishman leave.

Marc Guehi remains the far more realistic centre-back target for Liverpool this summer, particularly with Collins’ new appointment at Brentford.
