Chelsea have been told they will have to increase their valuation of Alejandro Garnacho by £10million if they are to reach an agreement with Man United.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have said about the 21-year-old’s potential destination as he closes in on a move away from Old Trafford.
Enzo Maresca’s side are currently willing to pay £40million to land the winger, while United are holding out for their £50million valuation if they are to sell.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Chelsea are confident of agreeing a deal with United and are pushing to do a deal.

Ruben Amorim’s side, meanwhile, are keen to resolve Garnacho’s future after the boss “all but confirmed” the player would be leaving Old Trafford this summer.
Football Insider revealed in May that Garnacho is keen to leave United after being left unhappy with the manager’s treatment of him in the late stages of the season.
Brown told Football Insider on 10 July that United will lower Garnacho’s price tag later in the window to accelerate a deal if clubs are unable to match the asking price.

Talks between the two clubs are ongoing behind the scenes as they aim to reach a resolution, with both sides keen to agree a permanent move before the window closes.
O’Rourke explained that the Blues are hoping to agree a cut-price deal after the public fall-out with Amorim, with a middle ground now expected to be reached.

“We fully expect things to get moving between Man United and Chelsea,” he told Football Insider.
“We know Chelsea remain interested in signing the Argentine, they considered a move in the January transfer window before deciding not to go forward with that move.
“Garnacho has no future at Old Trafford, there’s no getting away from it, he’s burnt his bridges with the club.
“Ruben Amorim has all but confirmed that Garnacho will be leaving Old Trafford this summer.
“Both clubs have been in discussions over a potential deal, and it will all come down to the fee.
“Chelsea will be hoping that due to the situation between the player and Ruben Amorim, United will be willing to sell him for a cut-price fee.

“They want to do a deal at around £40million while United are holding out for around £50million, so it’s a game of cat and mouse between United and Chelsea.
“I do expect this deal to go through, United need to offload him because he’s not part of their plans.
“They need that money from any potential sale to try and reinvest in the squad, so all signs point to a move to Stamford Bridge for Alejandro Garnacho.”
Another key target for Chelsea at this late stage of the window is Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, who has been labelled the “dream signing” at Stamford Bridge.

Football Insider revealed on 2 August that Villa will demand upwards of £80million to sell Rogers as they are extremely reluctant to lose their star man this month.
Maresca had identified the attacking midfielder as a key target in the final month of the window and the Blues are now planning an offer to test Villa’s resolve.
However, Football Insider revealed on 3 August that Villa will do everything to keep Rogers beyond the end of the window and remain adamant he is not for sale.
