Crystal Palace are preparing to accept a new offer from Liverpool for Marc Guehi in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have said about the 25-year-old’s future at Selhurst Park amid ongoing negotiations with Arne Slot‘s side.
Palace are now believed to be open to offers for the centre-back after reaching the UEFA Conference League league stage with a 1-0 aggregate win over Fredrikstad.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 27 August that Guehi has an agreement with Crystal Palace that he will be allowed to leave following their playoff victory.
Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on his situation throughout the window, and are now prepared to take the opportunity to land one of their top targets.
Newcastle and Tottenham had also explored deals for the England international, but he made clear his desire to join the Reds, having already agreed personal terms.

This fee will match the price tag Palace set at the start of the window in a big to accelerate the move, with Steve Parish open about the club’s need to cash in.
O’Rourke explained that Palace had been reluctant to let him go, but following their official European qualification, they are now prepared to accept offers.
“Liverpool have been having talks with Crystal Palace,” he told Football Insider.
“There’s been a few offers, but they haven’t yet met Palace’s valuation, there’s been a bit of to and fro between the two clubs.
“Palace have been keen to keep hold of Guehi for the second leg of their UEFA Conference League play-off game against Fredrikstad.

“Now that they’ve safely negotiated that, they’re prepared to let Guehi move on if a suitable offer does come in for him.
“Now it will depend on whether Liverpool are prepared to meet their valuation.
“They have been hoping the £35-40million valuation would lower, with Palace in a difficult position.
“It’s still up in the air at the minute, but talks are ongoing between the two clubs to see if something can be resolved.”
As they edge closer to an agreement with one long-term target in Guehi, a new update has emerged on their high-profile pursuit of Liverpool’s Alexander Isak.
Football Insider revealed on 28 August that Liverpool are increasingly “confident” of signing Isak before the transfer deadline on 1 September.

The Reds have remained in daily contact with Isak’s representatives as they push to get an agreement over the line despite Newcastle’s firm stance.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 15 August that Isak is likely to land his “dream” move to Anfield as he remains on strike at St James’ Park.
