Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson is attracting a lot of high-profile interest following his displays for England during the international break.

Anderson was the man of the match against Andorra, before the Nottingham Forest midfielder shone against Serbia, leading to heavy plaudits from pundits.

His performances have not only been noticed by pundits and supporters, though, with the midfielder now subject to interest from top Premier League clubs.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 22-year-old is happy at Nottingham Forest and has no plans to leave.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 12 September that Ange Postecoglou does not want to lose Anderson and Forest are unlikely to entertain offers even though the player will soon be worth £70million.

Former Old Trafford chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man United are considering signing Anderson, who is high on their list of targets.

Sources say a number of clubs are interested in Anderson, including Man United, but any deal would be difficult for rival clubs to pull off as things stand.

After moving to the City Ground for a £35million fee in 2024, his price tag is expected to pose issues for interested clubs, while he is happy to stay at Forest.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “It’s another difficult deal, but I’m not surprised Man United have been looking at Anderson.

“Now that he’s broken into the England squad, his profile is only going to get bigger.

“He was sold for £35million, and the way he’s going right now, if he continues to impress for club and country in the next 12 months, you’ll see his price double at least.

“He’s on a long-term contract at the City Ground until 2029, so Forest are under no pressure to sell.

“He’s on the radar of a lot of clubs, but I don’t think there’s anything imminent on his future.

“Forest will be more than content to keep him, and the player is happy there and happy to stay with the way things are working out for him at Forest.

“I don’t expect he’ll be planning to move on any time soon as things stand.”

Anderson’s stance will come as a huge boost to Forest and a blow to Man United, as they remain determined to strengthen their midfield option.

While likely retaining Anderson through the January window will be a blow, losing other key players to injuries has emerged as an early concern for the boss.

Postecoglou endured an awful start to his tenure as Nottingham Forest were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday 13 September.

However, the poor start may be the least of his concerns, as both Ola Aina and Murillo have suffered injuries in the first week under his management.

Murillo lasted just 37 minutes before picking up an injury against Arsenal, adding to the concerns about Forest’s difficult start to the season.

Postecoglou’s Tottenham endured a number of key injuries last time out, and it appears the boss may now have brought the curse to the City Ground.
