Everton are already considering making Jack Grealish’s loan spell permanent come the end of the season following his excellent performances.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have said about the 29-year-old’s future as he continues to prove what he is capable of at his best.

The England international has a £50million option to buy in his loan agreement with Man City, placing the Toffees in a strong position over his long-term future.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 30 August that Man City will accept permanent offers for Grealish while he is resigned to the fact he has no future at the Etihad.

Clubs across Europe are believed to be keeping a close eye on the attacking midfielder’s situation and may be prepared to rival David Moyes‘ side in their interest.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Moyes backs himself to reignite Grealish’s career and recreate the “showman” he saw at Aston Villa.

With four assists in two games against Brighton and Wolves, he is showing signs of getting back to his best level, which has inspired increased interest in his long-term situation.

O’Rourke explained that Everton remain in control of his future given the option to buy in his contract, but clubs have not been put off by that development.

“I think it’s pretty evident that his long-term future is away from City,” he told Football Insider.

“He’s been allowed to go on loan to Everton with an option to buy for £50million.

“Obviously, City are planning for life without Grealish and he is resigned to leaving City.

“Everton are the front-runners at the minute, especially if he has a successful loan spell at the club, that would give them the advantage over others.

“If he has a good season and recaptures the form he’s shown in the past, there will be other clubs looking at him.

“Not just in the Premier League, but clubs abroad will be having a look as well.

“So yeah, it’s a big season ahead for Grealish, as we’ve said many times before.”

While Grealish’s future remains a long-term discussion at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, they are still planning to strengthen their squad this summer.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 29 August that Everton are submitting a bid for Tomas Soucek from West Ham and are in talks to sign the 30-year-old.

West Ham value Soucek at £19million, and the player has made it clear he is keen to join Everton and be reunited with former manager Moyes.

West Ham rejected an initial offer from Everton as they are reluctant to weaken their midfield, but there is a feeling that an improved offer could be accepted.
