Liverpool have renewed confidence that they will be able to sign Marc Guehi before Monday’s transfer deadline, Rousing The Kop understands.
The Reds have been locked in negotiations with Crystal Palace over Guehi, with the Eagles adamant they will need to find a replacement before letting their captain leave.
Initially, Liverpool entered deadline day pessimistic about striking a deal for Guehi, with Joe Gomez also expected to stay following interest from AC Milan.
In the hours since, Gomez’s potential move to Milan has collapsed, but this is not understood to be a barrier towards Liverpool signing Guehi.
Instead, RTK have been told that the Reds are becoming more and more confident that a deal will be concluded before the 7pm deadline.

The biggest issue surrounding whether Liverpool will sign Guehi on Monday is understood to be a difference of opinion between Oliver Glasner and Palace chairman Steve Parish.
RTK have been told that Parish is keen to recoup a fee for Guehi rather than see him leave on a free transfer next summer.
However, manager Glasner is desperate to keep his captain.
As a result, something of a standoff is understood to have developed as the window reaches a crucial stage.

From Liverpool’s point of view, they are leaning on Parish to get the deal done.
Although sources have described the transfer as being ‘on a knife edge’, there is a confidence at Anfield that they will get their man.
Although Liverpool are beginning to feel as though a deal for Guehi is possible, there remains a chance that there is simply not enough time left for the move to go through.
One thing that is potentially working in Liverpool’s favour is that they are focused solely on getting Guehi through the door.
Alexander Isak is currently undergoing his medical with the club, and with negotiations all tied up for the Newcastle striker, Liverpool’s incoming business is understood to be finished aside from Guehi.
With an expectation that this one could go down to the wire, the Reds are hopeful of landing their new centre-back.
