Harry Wilson will be back on the Leeds United transfer in January after their failed 11th hour move for him on deadline day, sources have told Football Insider.
Leeds opened talks with Fulham late in the summer window and even scheduled a flight to bring Wilson to Elland Road on deadline day, only for the Wales winger to stay put and never step foot on the plane.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Leeds will “resurrect” their pursuit of Wilson in the January window as the 28-year-old nears the end of his contract at Fulham.
Football Insider revealed on 5 September that Daniel Farke has been left “concerned” for the season ahead after Leeds missed out on both Wilson and Manor Solomon, with the latter heading to Villarreal.
However, with Wilson set to be in the final six months of his Fulham contract in January, my sources have said that Marco Silva‘s side may be open to offers for the Wales international in a boost to Leeds’ hopes.
Sources have told Football Insider that Leeds are keeping a close eye on Wilson’s level of game-time at Craven Cottage ahead of the next transfer window, with Fulham also keen to avoid losing him for free.

Wilson’s “fantastic” display in Wales’ win over Kazakhstan during the international break heightened the speculation over his future, with Leeds ready to launch another bid if he isn’t played regularly by Fulham.

“It’s a deal that maybe Leeds could resurrect in January”, I stated on the new Inside Track podcast.
“Harry Wilson is coming to the end of his contract at the end of the season, so if Fulham want to ensure they don’t miss out on collecting a fee, they might have to listen to offers for him in the January window.
“Leeds United will be keeping tabs on Wilson’s situation at Fulham – if he’s not playing regularly between now and January, they would maybe look to bring him in.”

Farke‘s frustrations at Leeds’ lack of activity late in the window are not unfounded, after they failed to add reinforcements other than Noah Okafor’s £18million move from AC Milan and two free transfers.
Football Insider revealed on Friday that Leeds want to bring in a “regular goalscorer” in January with concerns over the output of Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as well as their injury records.
Wilson would add the final-third quality and set-piece delivery Leeds’ towering side could thrive on, but it remains to be seen if Farke will be given the time he deserves to ensure Leeds are still in the fight come January.
