Manchester United could sell Andre Onana to the Saudi Pro League in order to reshuffle their goalkeeping department, sources have told Football Insider.

United currently have four senior keepers at the club after completing the deadline day signing of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.

The Red Devils were unable to find a buyer for Onana, who now looks set to stay at Old Trafford until at least the January window.

However, sources say that Ruben Amorim may still be able to sell the Cameroon international within the next month, as the transfer deadline in Saudi Arabia is not until 23 September.

Since his move from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023, Onana has made a number of high-profile mistakes for Man United.

At the start of this season, Amorim decided to drop the former Ajax shot-stopper and has instead started Altay Bayindir in the Premier League.

However, Bayindir has been less than convincing so far, which highlighted the need for the Red Devils to bring in a new goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Emiliano Martinez has reportedly been left “disappointed” after failing to seal a deadline day move from Aston Villa to Man United.

That is according to their former scout, Mick Brown, who claims that the 33-year-old had his heart set on joining Amorim‘s side.

Unai Emery has refused to discuss the goalkeeper’s future publicly but is believed to be open to reintegrating him into his first-team plans.

Football Insider revealed on 24 August that Emery had no plans to let Martinez leave despite his departure having been seen as “inevitable” earlier this summer.
