Newcastle United won’t consider any transfer bids for either Anthony Gordon or Bruno Guimaraes this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about Newcastle’s stance on their star players’ futures.

Football Insider revealed on Friday that Alexander Isak‘s attempts to force his way out of St.

James’ Park have caused a rift in Newcastle’s dressing room, with Guimaraes underlining his commitment to the club.

Gordon played as a makeshift centre-forward in Newcastle‘s Premier League opener at Aston Villa with Isak absent from Eddie Howe‘s squad, as both players continue to be linked with moves to Liverpool.

Liverpool could launch a £75million bid for Gordon separate to their ongoing talks over a deal for Isak, but Football Insider sources have said that Newcastle “wouldn’t even consider” selling their number 10.

Sources have told Football Insider that the ongoing impasse over Isak’s potential exit won’t affect the futures of players like Guimaraes and Gordon, with the latter “happy” as Isak’s replacement up front.

Football Insider revealed in May that Arsenal were also interested in a move for Gordon this summer, but their transfer activity has taken a different course after Newcastle qualified for the Champions League.

Speaking on the new Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke was asked what impact the stand-off between Isak and Newcastle could have on the futures of other key players such as Guimaraes and Gordon.

“I don’t think it’ll affect any other transfers”, he told Football Insider.

“Bruno Guimaraes – it seems with that social media post – is fully committed to Newcastle, and I don’t think Newcastle would even consider letting Anthony Gordon go either.

“It does seem the player is happy at Newcastle as well, leading the line in the absence of Alexander Isak.”

Man United’s former chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last month that Liverpool may look to sign both Isak and Gordon in a sensational double swoop this summer, with the latter valued at £100m.

Newcastle are already reluctant to sanction Isak’s sale for below their £150m valuation of the Sweden international, and thus the chances of them accepting a bid of just £75m for Gordon are near zero.

Isak’s exit remains on the cards at St.

James’ and will continue to do so into the final days of the window, but it’s increasingly clear that Gordon and Guimaraes won’t be joining him in the departure lounge.
