Paris Saint-Germain are readying a move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez as Man United try to complete the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma, sources have told Football Insider.

United have registered their interest in the Italian international as they work on signing a new keeper, having been handed a major setback following Andre Onana‘s injury.

The Premier League giants also have a longstanding interest in Martinez, but talks have not progressed.

It is understood that Villa would accept a £30million-plus offer for their shot-stopper as they need a big-money sale to free up funds for new signings.

PSG have now turned their attention to the Argentina international and have made contact over a potential blockbuster deal.

The Villans have done very little business in the summer transfer window so far, only bringing in 34-year-old Marco Bizot from Brest, though he may be handed more opportunities than first thought.

Martinez has been the first-choice option at Villa Park over the last five seasons, playing a crucial part in reclaiming European football and even reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.

He has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the Premier League in recent campaigns, but with Aston Villa facing financial punishment from UEFA, his departure could help ease pressure.

While Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that Aston Villa are reluctant to sell Morgan Rogers amid interest from Chelsea, Ollie Watkins and Jacob Ramsey continue to be linked with moves away.

Boubacar Kamara, however, has signed a new contract with the Villans, with Emery securing a major deal in the middle of the field without having to bed in a completely new face ahead of next season.

Martinez’s departure would signify a huge challenge during the final month of the summer transfer window, though, even despite the arrival of Bizot from Ligue 1.
