Rodrygo is happy at Real Madrid and has no intentions of leaving despite talks with both Liverpool and Man City in recent weeks.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have said about the 24-year-old’s future at Los Blancos in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
Arne Slot is keen to add a new attacking option to his starting XI after losing both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez during the window, with the Brazil international on his radar.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 21 August that Rodrygo’s agent has held talks with Liverpool and Man City after jetting into the UK.
However, the winger remains a firm part of Xabi Alonso’s plans for the rest of the season and is happy to stay as long as he is playing regular football.
Football Insider revealed on 3 August that Alonso plans to keep Rodrygo at Real Madrid despite Liverpool’s interest, with a move now placed on the back burner.

The Reds remain strong contender should he become available before the 1 September deadline, but sources say the deal is “very difficult” as things stand.
O’Rourke explained that Rodrygo is “highly unlikely” to leave Madrid this summer, in a new blow to both Liverpool and Man City’s late ambitions.
“Arne Slot has admitted there could be room in the attack for one more,” he told Football Insider.
“Liverpool have lost a few players this summer, so it’s something they might look to do before the deadline.
“The Rodrygo deal looks very difficult to do.

“He was back in the Madrid starting lineup against Oviedo and I think the player, he’s happy at Madrid as long as he’s getting minutes.
“And Madrid, if they were to sell him, they’ll be looking at huge fee for a signature as well.
“So, so late in the window, I would say it’s highly unlikely that Liverpool would push to get a deal over the line for Rodrygo.
It’s not happening this window.”
Rodrygo is not the only high-profile transfer target for the Reds at this stage of the window, with their pursuit of Marc Guehi now set to accelerate.
Football Insider revealed on 29 August that Crystal Palace plan to accept Liverpool’s new offer with negotiations ongoing between the two clubs.

Palace are now believed to be open to offers for the centre-back after reaching the UEFA Conference League league stage with a 1-0 aggregate win over Fredrikstad.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 27 August that Guehi has an agreement with Crystal Palace that he will be allowed to leave following their playoff victory.
