Jadon Sancho is attracting interest from a number of top clubs across Europe following his deadline day loan from Man United to Aston Villa.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the 25-year-old’s future at Man United and a potential permanent move away.
A number of clubs including the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Juventus had expressed an interest during the summer, but the finances involved proved too much.
Sancho has one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and the potential of agreeing a free transfer has reignited the high-profile interest.
However, Football Insider revealed on 5 September that Man United could extend Sancho’s deal using the optional extension clause in his contract.
Ruben Amorim‘s side are reluctant to lose a high-value asset on a free transfer despite the interest, and hope his time at Villa will earn them a larger transfer fee next year.

Football Insider revealed on 6 September that Villa will consider signing Sancho permanently if he impresses Unai Emery after the international break.

However, they will be joined by a number of top clubs in their efforts, with next summer’s transfer window set to restart the bidding for his signature.
O’Rourke explained that the winger’s displays during his season-long loan spell could decide his future with clubs now keeping a close eye on his progress.
“A number of tops clubs will be keeping tabs on Jadon Sancho,” he told Football Insider.
“They’ll see how he gets on at Aston Villa because a lot of clubs were interested in the summer.
“He had a very successful loan at Borussia Dortmund two seasons ago, it didn’t really work out for him at Chelsea last year and they decided not to make it permanent.

“But teams like Dortmund and Juventus were interested during the summer.
“If his loan move to Villa is a success, that interest will still be there next year.
“The talent is there, there’s no doubt about that, and he will hope he can get back to his best.
“It would be good for United as well because it would put him in the shop window and potentially increase his price tag ahead of next summer.“
The other big talking point at Villa Park on deadline day was about Emiliano Martinez, who was widely expected to leave amid interest from Man United.
However, after the deal failed to materialise, former Villa scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 2 September that Martinez is “disappointed” not to have joined Man United.

Despite the disappointment, the Argentina international has been urged to get his head down and work his way back into Unai Emery’s first-team plans.
Football Insider revealed on 7 September that Emery will reintegrate Martinez into the starting XI in a “huge” boost to their plans for the season.
