West Ham United may need to raise funds before going on a last-minute signing spree, sources have told Football Insider.
It has been a quiet summer for the East London side, who have only added Mads Hermansen, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Callum Wilson, and Kyle Walker-Peters so far.
On Friday, West Ham were beaten 5-1 by Chelsea at the London Stadium, highlighting the need for a number of signings before the end of the transfer window.
Sources say that Graham Potter would like a central midfielder, a forward, and a winger, but that the Hammers may need to sell before they can go back into the market.

Through the sale of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham, West Ham brought in £55million that could help them with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
However, the Hammers are still struggling financially and will be unable to improve their squad without offloading more players.
In terms of who they have on their shortlist if they were to find the funds, Football Insider exclusively revealed that West Ham are interested in Yves Bissouma from Tottenham.

Meanwhile, West Ham are exploring a move to sign Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling on loan as he closes in on a move away from Stamford Bridge, sources have told Football Insider.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 23 August that Chelsea are struggling to sell Sterling as clubs have been put off by his “huge” wage packet.
The winger is earning around £300,000 per week in West London, putting off any potential suitors who would be unable to match his lofty demands.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 August that Sterling’s agent has held talks with West Ham alongside a number of other clubs.
