Wolves are advancing in talks to sign four players before the transfer cut-off, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands outfit are working on landing a forward, a centre-back, and a central midfielder by next week.

One deal is close to being agreed with Getafe attacking midfielder Christantus Uche in talks over a £17million move.

Wolves are also in negotiations with Girona over their centre-back Ladislav Krejci.

Vitor Pereira’s side have lost both their opening games of the new campaign, and he has spoken about the need to strengthen his squad after the double departure of star duo Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri this summer.

Wolves have had a mediocre transfer window up to this point in terms of incomings, adding four new signings to their squad.

The Premier League side have brought in Jhon Arias, Fer Lopez, Jackson Tchatchoua, and David Moller Wolfe, spending just under £80million in total.

However, through the sale of Cunha to Manchester United and Ait-Nouri to Manchester City, Wolves have received close to £100m.

This means that Pereira’s side are currently in an overall profit this summer, and should still have the funds to complete a signing spree before the window shuts.

Meanwhile, Newcastle will have to pay over the odds if they’re to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The Magpies are still in the market for a striker, due to the situation regarding Alexander Isak.

Wolves are hesitant to sell their number nine just weeks after his permanent transfer, and as a result will demand a huge £60m package for Strand Larsen, more than double the £25m they paid to Celta Vigo.

Newcastle had an initial £50m bid for the 25-year-old rejected on Monday (25 August), as the Midlands club stand firm on the valuation of their star forward.
