Tottenham Hotspur will look to move Yves Bissouma on this summer as they prepare a bid for an England midfielder, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what his sources have told him about Bissouma’s uncertain future in North London.
Bissouma fell behind Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Sarr in Spurs’ central midfield pecking order last term and is one of several expected to leave as part of Thomas Frank’s rebuild at Tottenham this summer.
Former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last month that Tottenham want to at least recoup the £25million they paid Brighton for Bissouma in 2022, and are planning to accept offers for the Malian.
Football Insider sources have now said that Bissouma is highliy likely to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium despite Frank’s desire to bolster his midfield – which he wants to do by signing Conor Gallagher.
Sources have told Football Insider that Spurs are looking for options in the middle of the park regardless of Bissouma’s future, and see long-term transfer target Gallagher as a player who ticks plenty of boxes.

Football Insider revealed on 1 August that Atletico Madrid will demand at least £40million for Tottenham to sign Gallagher this summer, with Premier League rivals Newcastle and Aston Villa also interested.
Speaking on the new Inside Track, O’Rourke said that Spurs see Gallagher as an upgrade on Bissouma ahead of next season, but it’s currently unclear if it’ll be a case of one in, one out in Tottenham‘s midfield.
“I’m not surprised that Tottenham are looking at [Gallagher] to try and bolster that midfield”, he told Football Insider.
“It seems more than likely that Yves Bissouma could be moved on, and that midfield at Tottenham is a bit light right now.
“So, they could be looking for options to strengthen it, and Conor Gallagher would tick a lot of boxes.”

Midfield was the area where Ange Postecoglou‘s Tottenham side were so often exposed last season, but Frank‘s permanent additions have so far been focused more on central defenders and wide attackers.
That could be set to change after James Maddison suffered an “awful” injury blow in their pre-season friendly against Newcastle, a match which also saw departing captain Son Heung-min say his goodbyes.
Son‘s exit and Maddison’s absence will leave two huge leadership gaps ahead of the new campaign and it’s no surprise to see Frank in pursuit of an all-action player like Gallagher to help fill the void, even if that does mean selling Bissouma.
