Leeds United still want to make four new additions to Daniel Farke’s squad before the end of the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what his sources have told him about Leeds’ plans to strengthen in four key positions.

Leeds’ buoyant start to the new season came crashing back down to earth with a 5-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates, which exposed the Whites’ weaknesses and highlighted their need to bolster the squad.

Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa is a £30million target for the Peacocks, and Football Insider sources have stated that this is one of four positions which Farke is targeting to bring his squad up to standard.

Sources have told Football Insider that Leeds still want to bring in an attacking midfielder, winger, right-back and left-back before the close of the window, with the latter two positions in clear need of cover.

Leeds’ signing of £18million AC Milan forward Noah Okafor left their fans in raptures, but a one-sided 5-0 thumping at Arsenal has made clear to owners 49ers Enterprises that further additions are still needed.

Speaking on the new Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke stated that even with Okafor‘s arrival and ability to play both out wide and through the middle of Leeds’ attack, Farke wants to bring in four more new faces.

“Daniel Farke would like to bring in an attacking midfielder, somebody who can add goals from midfield – that’s one area of the team he’d like to strengthen“, he told Football Insider.

“Maybe a winger as well, to provide the creativity Leeds are going to need if they’re to score goals in the Premier League, and give themselves a real chance of staying up this season.

“Add potential cover at full-back, somebody to provide cover for Jayden Bogle at right-back and also potentially a left-back as well.

“So, Leeds will be looking to make a few more additions to their squad before the close of the window.”

Although the Whites have strengthened out wide and at left-back with the signings of Okafor and Gabriel Gudmundsson, reinforcements in both positions are needed amid Leeds’ search for increased depth.

Another new face on the flanks could come in the form of Christantus Uche as a potential replacement for Largie Ramazani, and it remains to be seen how Farke’s setup will be altered if his wishlist is fulfilled.

The German’s first Premier League test away from Elland Road was an abject failure, but if Leeds can add full-back cover and more quality in the final third, Farke’s side will have a fighting chance at survival.
