Paz has largely operated as an attacking midfielder for Cesc Fabregas’ side, and the former Real Madrid talent has bags of potential.

Speaking to Sky Sports, South American football expert Tim Vickery said: “Nico Paz plays for Argentina.

So Nico Paz came up through the youth ranks with Real Madrid,” Vickery continued.

“He’s at Como, but Real Madrid have an interest in him and they have a buy-back.

“If you’re thinking of Tottenham’s and long-term strategies, he’s a little bit of a left-footed version of [Lucas] Bergvall, someone who, possibly, if you were to put him in the Premier League right now, might find that a little bit of a step up at this stage of his career.

“But Tottenham would be thinking long-term.

The stumbling block there, though, is that Real Madrid have a long-term interest in this player.”

The issues regarding a potential move for Paz are embroiled in the issues revolving around a Real Madrid’s right to refusal, when another team bids for the Argentine.

Paz can play on the right, cutting inside on his left foot, at attacking midfield or even upfront and that versatility, partnered with his immense quality would be a huge boost for Frank’s squad.
