Spain hand Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool fresh Thiago Alcantara concern

Spain's preparations for Euro 2020 have been thrown into turmoil following two positive COVID-19 results, just days before their tournament gets underway against Sweden in Seville, on Monday.

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets was the first of Luis Enrique's 24-man squad forced into a period of self-isolation after his results came back on Sunday.

It came not long after their goalless draw with Portugal in which Thiago Alcantara, who started alongside Busquets, faced Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota.

The Spaniard played 63 minutes before he was replaced by Pedri with the former Wolves attacker lasting 70 minutes after he made way for Benfica's Rafa Silva.

As a result, the entire senior side was forced to pull out of their final warm-up friendly with Lithuania, with the under-21s taking their place in the friendly.

Luis de la Fuente's side made no mistake as they netted four past the Lithuanians. However in the aftermath of the result, Leeds United defender Diego Llorente also returned a positive test, just two days after the Barcelona star.

Thiago, and the rest of his Spanish compatriots all returned a negative test as Kepa Arrizabalaga and Raul Albiol are expected to begin training in a separate "parallel" bubble, after Rodrigo Moreno, Pablo Fornals, Carlos Soler and Brais Mendez arrived earlier this week.

Busquets and Llorente will now isolate for 10 days meaning they will miss the opener against Sweden whilst it remains likely they could miss the next game against Poland on June 18.

'I know more' - Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson responds to Roy Keane over England jibe

Jordan Henderson has responded to Roy Keane's jibes over his England Euro 2020 selection by declaring he is fit for the tournament.

Henderson was singled out by former Manchester United midfielder Keane having been included in the squad despite not starting a match since February.

The Liverpool midfielder came through 45 minutes of Sunday's 1-0 friendly win over Romania to confirm his availability for the finals, with England's first game against Croatia at Wembley this weekend.

Keane had questioned Henderson's involvement as a "cheerleader" and stated: “Does he do card tricks? Does he have a sing-song? Does he do quizzes in the evening? What does he do?”

But Henderson laughed off the jibes, and said: "To be fair to Roy, he can say what he wants about me. He gave me my debut and I wouldn’t be here without him giving me that.

“I found it quite funny, actually. So, yeah, listen, we know a little bit more detail, I know more detail and so does the manager, which Roy may not.

“But in terms of stuff like that, everyone’s going to have an opinion, everybody’s going to think they know better than everybody else."
