The former Liverpool man made his La Liga debut on Tuesday evening in a far from convincing victory.
For the Reds, their title defence is already underway and they started it with a win over Bournemouth on Friday night.
Although they were certainly far from their best, kick-starting the new campaign with a win was vital for Arne Slot’s side, especially due to all the changes that have happened at the club over the summer.
One big change has been that Trent Alexander-Arnold is no longer at the club, with the scouser being Liverpool’s regular right-back for the past eight years.
He has started a new life at Real Madrid and his La Liga debut came on Tuesday night, with it safe to say that the Spanish media were left far from impressed.

‘Trent’ certainly has a lot of hype to live up to and the pressure on his shoulders will be immense, especially as the Madrid fans will be much more impatient than Liverpool supporters were and are.
The defensive side of his game has always been a major problem, with his attacking threat usually getting him out of trouble, something that was not the case on his first league start for his new club.
Spanish newspaper MARCA are often very harsh with their opinions on players, and the right-back got a very average review on his debut, with the outlet describing his performance as ‘lukewarm’.

They stated that the same problems he had at the Club World Cup occurred in this game against Osasuna, and that he will need to sharpen up, especially as Dani Carvajal replaced him and showed him how it’s done.
El Confidencial were not much more forgiving either, with Alexander-Arnold reportedly looking ‘timid’ as he played at the Bernabeu for the first time.
They also said that fellow new signing Alvaro Carreras also showed him up on his debut, with the former Man United man posing a threat from the other full-back position.
As per FotMob’s player ratings, ‘Trent’ only got a 6.9 out of 10, the lowest along the backline and the second lowest of Madrid’s starting XI.
Although it has been a bad start for him, Alexander-Arnold’s attacking capabilities should carry him at times, especially in the league.
Madrid often dominate possession and this will suit the Englishman, with his vision and passing range second to none.
However, his defensive positioning might be called out on numerous occasions, with this something that could cost them in Champions League games.
It would be no surprise to see Xabi Alonso opt for Carvajal against some of the tougher opponents, suggesting ‘Trent’ might not be as key to the team as he first hoped.
