Liverpool supporters have been in dreamland throughout virtually all of the season so far.
The Reds’ faithful had perhaps been a little unsure what to expect from the campaign having seen Jurgen Klopp exit over the summer.
However, Arne Slot has come in and instantly made himself at home.
Not only has the new Liverpool head coach made a handy habit of winning games, but his calm and confident personality has won him many admirers on Merseyside, too.
After beating Real Madrid on Wednesday, Slot’s Liverpool have the chance to pull further clear in the Premier League on Sunday with a meeting against second-place Manchester City.
And ahead of that game at Anfield, Slot has sat down to talk about the ‘special’ fans he has found at his new club.

It is always easy to be a fan when times are good in football.
And right now, Liverpool have it better than they’ve had it for a while.
Each of their last six games have now ended in three points being awarded to Liverpool.

Inevitably, this has made Slot incredibly popular during the early part of his reign at the club.
So, when asked to comment on his experiences of seeing Liverpool fans out and about around the city by Sky Sports, it was not a surprise to hear Slot say that it has given him a wholly positive impression of the fanbase so far.

“I don’t go a lot to the shops, if I need something I try to order it instead of going somewhere!” smiled the Dutchman.
“But I think one of the best things about Liverpool supporters is if we might have situation where we don’t get the results they still support us, and that is what makes these supporters special.”
It’s a small irony that the only game Slot has lost in charge of Liverpool so far actually came on home turf.
After winning his first competitive game at Anfield against Brentford, the 46-year-old had to take a shock home defeat to Nottingham Forest on the chin.
Using that as a learning experience, Slot and his team have been perfect in the eight games since.
Eight wins have been delivered.
Whether that will become nine on Sunday could have a big bearing on whether Liverpool can end up as Premier League champions.
The visit of Man City will obviously not be a definitive moment in that determining, but it will be a factor.
There will perhaps be times when the game is not going the way Liverpool had wanted it to.
And in those moments more than any other, that’s when the Anfield factor can take over and supporters show their true value.
