Tottenham No.23 Pedro Porro has now said a manager Liverpool could hire is a bit like Ange Postecoglou.

The Reds are no closer to finding a replacement for Jurgen Klopp – as far as we know based on official news – despite the German announcing his decision to leave back in January.

Xabi Alonso was a target – but decided to stay at Bayer Leverkusen – while another potential appointment in Julian Nagelsmann has now signed a new contract with Germany.

There is, however, one rumoured favourite to replace Jurgen Klopp – somebody who has now been compared to Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou…

Well – according to the Independent – Ruben Amorim would like to take over at Liverpool, and prefers the vacancy at Anfield to replacing Xavi at Barcelona.

There have even been reports in Portugal which state that Liverpool have offered the Sporting CP boss a contract running until the summer of 2027.

Now, Porro – who made 98 appearances under Amorim at Sporting CP – has told Liverpool fans what they can expect from the Portuguese tactician, if he does end up replacing Klopp.

The Spain international told Expresso: “He is young, has a lot of ambition, a little bit like Ange Postecoglou here at Tottenham.

“He has a special way of working, he plays eye to eye against any opponent, which is also similar to what we do at Tottenham, there are several similarities.

It is known and recognised how Sporting and Tottenham play, there is a clear identity, whether winning 5-0 or losing 5-0.”

Amorim is currently on the brink of winning a second Primeira Liga title in three years – Sporting CP sit seven points clear of Benfica with just five games to play.

An appointment is highly unlikely to happen – in our view – but respected journalist Ben Jacobs has actually claimed that Postecoglou is, or was, on FSG’s radar at Anfield.

However, a story from Football London then stated that Spurs have no fears of losing the Australian – who only arrived in north London back in June 2023.

Therefore, it seems Liverpool have turned to Postecoglou 2.0 in Amorim.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the 39-year-old is the red hot favourite to replace Klopp as things stand.
