Liverpool have made Colin Stewart the latest addition to their coaching setup.
Stewart was appointed the club’s new goalkeeper development and pathway lead on Tuesday, just five months after his longstanding role with Rangers ended.
The 45-year-old spent nine years across the ranks at Ibrox and worked under new Reds’ assistant Giovanni van Bronckhorst prior to being deposed in February.
Prior to stepping up to the first team in 2017, Stewart had overseen Rangers’ academy goalkeeping programme as well as working with the Scottish FA.
His new role on Merseyside will be in supporting Liverpool’s head of first-team goalkeeper coaching Xavi Valero, who returned to the club last month.
Stewart will also preside over the loan strategies of the Premier League champions’ emerging crop of goalkeepers who are stepping up from academy to senior level.
