The 20-year-old has been steadily regaining fitness following a hamstring operation in May, which came after he suffered an injury during the latter stages of a productive loan spell at Las Palmas.
Liverpool have been cautious in managing Bajcetic’s comeback, mindful of his history with injuries in recent years.
Despite interest from multiple clubs, the Reds decided against approving a summer loan move, instead prioritising his full physical recovery.
Bajcetic has been stepping up his rehabilitation and has been spotted on the training ground taking part in individual exercises during first-team sessions, though he is yet to join full squad training.
That step is expected to come in the coming weeks.
Bajcetic is eligible to play for Liverpool in both the Premier League and Champions League this season, qualifying for List B.
The Spain youth international made his senior breakthrough during the 2022/23 campaign, but has made just three appearances for Liverpool since March 2023.
His most recent outing came in May 2024.
He featured for only 25 minutes in Premier League action during the 2023/24 season.
Bajcetic’s loan spell at Red Bull Salzburg in the first half of the 2024/25 season proved underwhelming, before he moved to Las Palmas, where he racked up 14 appearances.
When asked whether the midfielder might soon feature for the U21s, head coach Rob Page said: “It is a possibility, isn’t it?
“It is about getting him back on the grass?
It’s about exposing him to minutes to get him back to full fitness.”
