Cole Palmer’s previous move to Chelsea has inflated the price tags of players like Everton target Tyler Dibling.
Palmer joined the London giants for £42.5million from Manchester City in September 2023, with many thinking the deal was too expensive at the time.
Football Insider revealed on 2 August Everton could agree a deal to sign Dibling for half of Southampton’s initial asking price this summer.

Everton have signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Thierno Barry, Carlos Alcaraz, Adam Aznou and Mark Travers this summer as they continue to try and strike a deal for Dibling.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I think the Dibling deal, the way it’s been touted by Southampton doesn’t make any sense because it’s just too expensive for the risk, especially if you’ve got this 25 per cent sell-on.
“But if we go back, first of all just before Palmer was sold, everyone was saying the Palmer deal was ridiculous because he barely played.
“I mean, you might be scrambling around to get half of that back from somebody, so the risk versus reward has to be right.”
