This article contains exclusive comment from Stefan Borson, a former financial adviser to Man City.
“Now that the Savinho deal is done or is not happening, I think really City is very much about who can they get out the door.
“Hugo Viana, the City sporting director was giving a press interview at the Champions League draw and he did say that they’re working hard on deals, but I do think that’s all on sales.
“I think they’d like to sell two, three, four players.
At City, you’ve got Kalvin Phillips, players like this.
At Chelsea, you’ve got the Sterling and Chilwell situation.
“These are players who are on massive money and they all effectively could go for free if somebody would take their wages.”
