Tottenham could have to make a £200million commitment if they were to agree two new signings before the transfer window closes at 7pm on Monday (1 September).

Xavi Simons joined Tottenham over the past few days as Thomas Frank continues to strengthen his attacking options.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have agreed to sign Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan deal from PSG.

Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai have also joined Spurs on permanent deals, taking their overall spending to more than £180million, with Joao Palhinha joining on loan from Bayern Munich.

“It’s not far off £100million because if you’ve got two five-year contracts at £200million a week, £10million a year, two of them, that is a £100million commitment on wages as well.

“So, you’re talking about teams scrambling around to spend £200million of commitment over those five years.

“It’s just bonkers in the last 24 hours of the window, but that’s football.”

In terms of a potential incoming, Football Insider revealed on 30 August Man City are ready to accept offers for Manuel Akanji after Tottenham and AC Milan joined the race for his signature.

Spurs are one of several teams interested in the centre-back, who could be allowed to leave the Etihad if “the right offer” comes in before the window closes.
