West Ham fans have been told to be “careful what you wish for” after a new letter has been sent to the club’s David Sullivan and Karren Brady-led board.

The supporters have long been fierce critics of West Ham’s ownership group since making the move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016.

However, finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider the Hammers fans are “unrealistic” in their expectations.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “Well, I think it’s another one where you’ve got to be careful what you wish for.

“I don’t know what the complaints are, but it’s not an old rickety stadium with all the atmosphere and smells of an old rickety stadium, but we’re in 2025.

I know that’s hard for West Ham fans to take because the football generally has not been at the level that they wanted, it’s just that unfortunately they’re a victim of being in that group of clubs just below the top six or eight.

“It’s very hard to break into the top six or eight without spending probably another £100million on wages a year, and then let’s say another £150million in amortisation and transfer fees a year.”

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 5 September West Ham have sounded out Frank Lampard as a potential replacement for Graham Potter.
