Manchester United are likely to release Jadon Sancho on a free transfer next summer after he joined Aston Villa on loan.

Sancho signed for Villa on transfer deadline day (1 September) after Man United spent the summer window trying to offload the winger.

Villa will cover 80 per cent of Sancho’s wages, which are believed to be worth around £300,000 a week.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I think Sancho has been a bit of a disaster really because you’ve ended up in a scenario where you think you’re going to sell him to Chelsea for £25million, you end up getting the termination fee of £5million, you pay his wages for all of the summer and then he goes with let’s say at best 100 per cent wage coverage, but it starts at 80 per cent.

Now, the idea that United are going to exercise the option just so they can then sell him on, I don’t buy that at all.

“So, I think the situation is going to be that he is released at the end of his contract, and so they’ve basically given him a free transfer.

Great.”

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 7 September Christian Eriksen is likely to join a new club soon after being released by Man United in July.

Several Premier League and Championship clubs are believed to have been keeping an eye on his situation and are expected to act outside of the transfer window.
