Former Manchester United star Bryan Robson reckons Steven Gerrard would be keen on taking the reins at Wrexham if Phil Parkinson were to be sacked.
The Welsh side have had a tough start to their first season in the second tier in 43 years, amassing just four points from their opening five matches.
Wrexham currently sit 21st in the Championship table, just one point above the relegation zone, sparking speculation over Parkinson's future.
Club director Shaun Harvey has brushed off such rumours, asserting that the manager still has the backing of the board and the Red Dragons' Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.
"He's had a good experience now in Saudi but you know a job like that would definitely interest him if he does want to go back into management.
"I think Wrexham at this moment in time should give Phil a bit more time because he has done a great job for them.
They've done fantastic to get where they are from where they were to get into the Championship in a short period of time.
"For me, if they can consolidate in the Championship, even if they finish mid-table, that would be a really good season from where they've come from."
The United legend added: "The charisma that the US lads have is fantastic, and the good thing about Wrexham is that they've got a good fan base that'll get right behind them so there'll always be a good atmosphere within the stadium.
Then with the sponsorship Ryan Reynolds has brought in too, that can only hold the club in good stead."
Wrexham director Harvey has addressed the speculation surrounding Parkinson's future this week, branding reports that discussions have been held over his position as "an absolute disgrace".
