Steven Gerrard has talked up PSG ahead of Liverpool's latest Champions League pursuit next season.

Liverpool great Steven Gerrard has fired a clear warning to his former club following Paris Saint-Germain's historic Champions League triumph.

Luis Enrique's side cruised to victory over Inter Milan as they hit five past the Italians at the Allianz Arena - in Munich - on Saturday night.



The Reds were edged out by the Parisians during the knockout phase of the elite European competition after PSG came from behind to win on penalties at Anfield in the second leg.



Liverpool will be looking to carry on their success in the Premier League - after being crowned champions - and go one further to establish themselves in Europe next season.

Arne Slot's side stunned many during the league phase as they won seven out of their first eight games - romping to the top of the standings.

However, they failed to get past PSG across two legs with the Ligue 1 giants turning on the style in the knockout stages to send Aston Villa, Arsenal and the Reds out.

Saturday's emphatic victory sent a warning to the likes of Liverpool, Real Madrid and Champions League hopefuls around the continent.

Gerrard was among those left stunned by the quality that the Paris club have at their disposal - with Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, 19 and 24 respectively, among those finding the target.

"How many times have we seen PSG change their coach because Neymar, [Lionel] Messi or [Kylian] Mbappe is there?

"Have they got the hunger to keep improving - because it's certainly there for them."
