Steven Gerrard told Liverpool they need to "fix the roof while the sun is shining" in a word-for-word throwback to his pointed 2021 message to the Rangers board.
The Liverpool legend initially appeared to be one of the frontrunners to replace Philippe Clement in the Rangers hotseat but it now looks as if it will be Russell Martin filling that void.
Instead the former Ibrox boss is filling his time with punditry work in between jobs after leaving Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.
And, naturally, he's been asked about his old club Liverpool, who are spending big this summer to build on their Premier League title win last season.
They've already brought Jeremie Frimpong in from Bayer Leverkusen in a £30m deal and look set to follow that up by bringing in his teammate Florian Wirtz.
They're not stopping there either; Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez looks set to follow, while there's also been talk of Atalanta midfielder Ederson and a new number nine.
Asked about the summer recruitment drive on TNT Sports, Gerrard said: "You've got to fix the roof while the sun is shining.
Because four years ago, he said exactly the same thing about Rangers.
Drenched in champagne after winning the Premiership in 2021, Gerrard was asked on Sky Sports what's next for the club and he urged the board, then chaired by Douglas Park, not to sit still – using exactly the same phrase.
"It's about what's next.
“We need to fix the roof while the sun is shining and everyone's happy.
It's my job now to find the tweaks and malfunctions in the group that we need to iron out.

"The recruitment is key now.
Gerrard left for Aston Villa in October, and Ange Postecoglou went on to bring the title back to Celtic.
