Just days before his 17th birthday, the former Chelsea prospect rifled home past Nick Pope deep into injury time to maintain Arne Slot's winning start to their Premier League title defence.
In doing so, Ngumoha became Liverpool's youngest-ever goalscorer, topping the record previously held by Ben Woodburn and their youngest Premier League eclipsing Michael Owen's accolade.
The 16-year-old was introduced in stoppage-time as Liverpool weathered a storm from the Magpies after relinquishing a second two-goal lead in as many games.
He made an immediate impact sweeping home from Mohamed Salah's cutback after an expert dummy from Dominik Szoboszlai.

The tricky winger has established himself as a fan favourite after an impressive pre-season, where he found the back of the net against Athletic Club in the final outing before their Premier League title defence.
The morning after the Reds' dramatic win, Ngumoha received a special message from Gerrard who posted the full-time graphic with the caption: "Top finish.
Well done kid [heart heart emoji]."

Ngumoha couldn't wipe the smile off his face during his post-match interview with the official club channels.
However, he is showing that he doesn't want to rest on his laurels after his record-breaking contribution.
"I’m buzzing!
It was just a proud moment.
"I’m 16 but I don’t want my age to show that I can’t play with the older players," Ngumoha added.
"I want to prove a point that I can play with not just people my age but many ages above.
"But like I said, there are people at the club who are always helping me and I’m always learning and improving, so I can’t complain."
