Having left Anfield 12 months ago on a free transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, the move has not gone to plan and the Dutch midfielder is thought to be seeking an early exit after failing to nail down a regular starting berth.

“I think they are doing the right thing by biding their time and waiting for the right people to become available and go into the club for years and not just one season.” Rumours continue to grow that Liverpool will make a move for Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham next season, with the player 'ticking all the boxes' for both manager Klopp and sporting director Julian Ward.
