Trent Alexander-Arnold has been speaking about Liverpool’s new manager search and has revealed his honest feelings.

It’s going to be very strange to see someone else in the dugout at Liverpool next season. We’ve all become so accustomed to seeing Jurgen Klopp being a permanent fixture there for nine years.

Having someone else is definitely going to take some time getting used to. Not just for the fans, but the players as well.

This summer will all be about that adaptation period. Slowly but surely, Liverpool will appoint a new manager. That new manager’s task will be to win them over as quickly as possible.

Expectations will be high and morale will be low, so it’s imperative the new manager gets everyone onboard as quickly as possible.

Trent Alexander-Arnold on his honest thoughts about Liverpool’s new manager

Perhaps someone who will find the change the most unusual is Trent Alexander-Arnold. In his senior career so far, he has never had any other manager apart from Jurgen Klopp.

The German gave Alexander-Arnold his debut for Liverpool. He’s trusted him completely along the way and made him into the world-class player that he is today.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ The Overlap, Alexander-Arnold has revealed it will be ‘strange’ for Liverpool to not have Klopp in the dugout.

“I’d probably say I’m sat on the fence with regards to my feelings on a new manager coming in,” Alexander-Arnold said.

“It’ll be a completely different situation and it’s going to be weird to then turn up to preseason, having to adopt a new playing style. Whereas now, without anything getting said to me, I know all the manager wants me to play, and I turn up to preseason, I know to jump there, I’m to press there, but for this summer, my next preseason will have a completely different message.

“It’s going to be strange, but I think I like the idea of a new challenge for the team, the players and the club.”

Who is the favourite to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool?

Right now, it seems like the overwhelming favourite to replace Klopp at Liverpool is Ruben Amorim.

The 39-year-old has achieved great success as manager of Sporting CP over the last few years. He delivered a league title for the first time in 19 years at the club. He’s on course to repeat that achievement this season.

On top of that, he embraces young players and plays with an exciting brand of attacking football that isn’t too dissimilar to Jurgen Klopp’s.
