It seems that Liverpool interest in Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller is genuine after local reports emerged from Germany last night.

Liverpool will not be resting on their laurels after clinching the Premier League title with four games to spare.

The club is expected to back new head coach Arne Slot with one of Liverpool’s biggest ever summer transfer budgets as they look to build on their success.

Even captain Virgil van Dijk has publicly stated that the club is “planning to make it a big summer” following his recent contract extension.

Key figures within Fenway Sports Group, including John W.

Henry and Mike Gordon, were present for Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Tottenham alongside sporting director Richard Hughes and other recruitment personnel.

These figures will no doubt be part of serious planning for the summer transfer window

The Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe reports that Slot will be backed with one of Liverpool’s biggest ever summer transfer budgets” with the board “preparing to invest heavily”

When Liverpool failed in their pursuit of Martin Zubimendi last summer, they considered Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller as an alternative but opted to push on with what they had.

Angelo Stiller.

As we can see from the German’s underlying figures, the midfielder excels at creating play from deep and is a creative force for Stuttgart this season.

And according to local outlet Stuttgarter Nachrichten, a summer transfer is a distinct possibility.

They claim that Stiller is now being looked at seriously for the summer window.

Stuttgart would reportedly start to consider a sale if an offer of around €60 million is made, a figure that could make the club “think twice” despite Stiller’s importance to their team.

The German international has impressed this season, and Liverpool’s interest is seen as very concrete at this stage.

Liverpool’s interest in Stiller isn’t new.

When the club failed in their pursuit of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi last summer, they considered Stiller as an alternative.

Liverpool’s pursuit of Zubimendi was well-documented, with the club willing to activate his €60 million (£50.1 million) release clause.

However, the Spaniard ultimately decided to remain at Real Sociedad

Currently, Arsenal appear to have taken pole position in the race for Zubimendi, making a move for Stiller make a lot of sense.
