The Scotsman has to go down as one of Liverpool’s best ever purchases.
Bargain transfers are always something the Reds have been known for and, despite being set to demolish the British transfer record for Florian Wirtz, it is something they still look for in the market.
Andy Robertson has been one of the best examples of Liverpool’s smart recruitment, costing just an initial £8m in 2017.
Since then, he has gone on to make 251 Premier League appearances for the Reds and has registered 56 assists for the club, the second-highest of any defender since the league’s inception in 1992.
However, now 31, the flying Scotsman has shown signs of slowing up and his future remains unclear, although his most recent three-word message sums up his season nicely.

It cannot be easy for ‘Robbo’ as of late, as there are constant question marks over his ability to carry on going at the top, as well as an active effort to source a replacement for him.
Milos Kerkez to Liverpool is almost complete, adding insult to injury for Robertson straight off the back of a sub-par season by his standards.
However, taking to Instagram, the Scotsman has summed up his season with three simple words by saying “switch off time,” suggesting that he is relieved the season is now done.

Of course, it could have many meanings, with these being switching off from all the criticism over his performances, blocking out all the replacement rumours, or even just getting ready for a break.
But, either way, Robertson would be right to do all three after his toughest season in a Liverpool shirt to date, with his future at the club far from clear.
With Kerkez coming in, one of Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas will surely depart, with the latter most likely to do so.

However, statistically there isn’t much in it, which is surprising considering that the Greek international has played almost half as many games.
One assist each is something not usually associated with Liverpool’s full-backs, hence the reason they are getting Kerkez in, but who leaves is very up in the air.
Robertson is the older and wiser head that the Hungarian would look up to, while Tsimikas would be able to compete for a few more years, suggesting Arne Slot has a tricky job on his hands.
