Bayern Munich have opened talks to sign Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson, sources have told Football Insider.

The German giants are pushing hard to land the striker, who has been told he can leave Stamford Bridge in the final days of the window.

Aston Villa have been exploring a move for Jackson but have been unable to agree a price with Chelsea.

Now, Bayern are trying to hijack Aston Villa‘s deal in a stunning late twist ahead of next week’s transfer cut-off.

Unai Emery has worked previously with Jackson at Villarreal, and with Ollie Watkins linked with a move away from Aston Villa, the club have been exploring a move for a new striker.

Villa’s first two games of the season has yet to see them score with a goalless draw against Newcastle followed up by a 1-0 defeat at Brentford.

Jackson has fallen own the pecking order at Chelsea after Enzo Maresca signed striker Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer.

The 24-year-old was not involved in the Chelsea squad that defeated West Ham 5-1 at the London Stadium amid speculation he is going to leave the club.
