Paul Merson believes Chelsea would be helping Liverpool get back to their best by selling to the Reds this summer. Merson believes that there are so many players who Chelsea need to sell before considering offloading Mount. The Arsenal legend feels Mount was ‘outstanding’ last season and Chelsea should be getting him back to that level, not selling him. Merson noted that the interested clubs – such as Liverpool – ‘tells you everything’ about Mount’s quality.

“Mason Mount was by far Chelsea’s best player last season.



“If Liverpool go and get Mount and then Jude Bellingham, who could also go to Liverpool, you’ve got a title-contending team.



Chelsea will be adding a new attacking midfielder this summer in Christopher Nkunku, possibly leaving Mount out in the cold.
