Arsenal players were active on social media to react to Ethan Nwaneri’s latest message to supporters following a key development in his future.

Nwaneri enjoyed a breakout campaign last season, featuring in 37 matches across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing two assists.

Following Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury, which sidelined him for up to three months, Mikel Arteta placed his trust in the 18-year-old.

Nwaneri stepped up impressively, delivering standout performances against sides like Manchester City and PSV.

With his current deal set to expire in 2026, there had been growing concern that the highly rated youngster could leave, especially after the arrival of Noni Madueke raised questions over squad space and future opportunities.

Despite speculation linking him with Chelsea and Manchester City, Football Insider has revealed that Nwaneri is now closing in on signing a new long-term contract at Arsenal.

As his future appears close to being secured, the forward shared a heartfelt message to fans that quickly drew reactions from teammates and supporters alike.

Nwaneri is currently part of Arsenal’s pre-season tour across Hong Kong and Singapore, with the Gunners facing Tottenham, AC Milan and Newcastle during their time abroad.

Following their final fixture, the squad is set to return to London next week and the academy graduate took to Instagram to thank fans for their continued support overseas, posting: “Thank you for all the support” with a heart emoji.

The message was met with plenty of support from fellow players, with Myles Lewis-Skelly, Saka and Arsenal legend Ian Wright all liking the post.

Football Insider previously revealed on 7 July that Arsenal had no intention of losing Nwaneri, despite his current deal running until 2026 and the interest from Premier League rivals.

While the club has yet to officially confirm a deal, the 18-year-old is expected to sign a new contract at the Emirates in the coming weeks.

As Nwaneri closes in on committing his future to the club, another player could be on the way out.

Football Insider revealed that Arsenal are open to selling Jesus, particularly following the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres earlier in the window.

Although Arsenal were already considering offers for Jesus back in January, a serious ACL injury halted any possible move.

When Jesus returns, he will see Gyokeres and Kai Havertz leading the attacking options and his opportunities could become limited, strengthening Arsenal’s stance as they look to reshape their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
