Liverpool fans had another chance to see their new signings in action on Wednesday as they played the final leg of their tour of the Far East.
The Reds were beaten by AC Milan on Saturday, but rallied to win 3-1 against Yokohama F.
Marinos.
While the result was not particularly important, it was pleasing to hear that Arne Slot took plenty of positives from the win in Japan.
Rio Ngumoha rather stole the show after scoring a wonderful goal in the second-half, but there were plenty of other good performances for Liverpool too.
One of these came from debutant Hugo Ekitike, who played 45 minutes after joining the Liverpool squad last week.
Former Red Jan Molby was impressed by Ekitike, and the Frenchman was also praised for making a difference to the performance of record signing Florian Wirtz.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will bolster their attack further with the signing of Alexander Isak this summer.
But by bringing Ekitike and Wirtz in from the Bundesliga, Slot has already added plenty of new firepower.

That was in evidence on Wednesday, with former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor noting how Ekitike’s movement off the ball had helped to bring out the best in Wirtz.
“I enjoyed this performance [from Wirtz] more because against AC Milan he never had a centre-forward, he was playing the most advanced with Harvey Elliott,” Mellor told LFCTV.

“I felt Ekitike really helped him, because of his movement, that ability to occupy defenders and give him a little bit more space.
Mellor highlighted the relationship between Wirtz and Mohamed Salah after Saturday’s defeat, and claimed it was also in effect against Marinos as well.
“One thing that stood out again was that he’s looking for Salah,” said the pundit.
It was great to see him get a goal because he’s capable.
He was also on the edge of his own box winning the ball back, so he’s willing to do the defensive work which is important.”
Although there were several candidates, it was Wirtz who was named as the man of the match from Wednesday’s game.
The 22-year-old took his first goal for Liverpool brilliantly and was constantly looking to make something happen.
And having been named as the game’s outstanding player, Wirtz was awarded a cash prize of 1 million Japanese Yen.
“Florian Wirtz gets a million yen for being man of the match.
(£5,000)”
The German will undoubtedly have even better days ahead with Liverpool, but he will perhaps never have a much more lucrative one.
