Iraola's side had fallen behind to goals from Hugo Ekitike and Cody Gakpo before Antoine Semenyo scored twice to level the match, only for substitute Federico Chiesa to strike on 88 minutes before Mohamed Salah netted in additional time of a rollercoaster occasion.
And Iraola said: "I'm really pleased with the performance.
Today we have missed a big chance to take something from the game, probably the game was quite level on both sides and we played well.

"The key was not to concede four goals and today wasn't a game to concede four goals.
obviously you are in the game, but you are aware of everything that is happening.
"For a player it has to be a pleasure playing here in this level of the game, of the supporters.
"To be fair, from the Liverpool side they have identified this person.
